"Celestial Kin" is a term used to reference someone who is kin with a species which does not exist in the physical world and which, according to science, never did.  Some species, such as Dragons and Angels, are thought to have occasionally come to visit the physical world.  They are still classified as Celestial Kin though as they are not native to this realm.

This is not a full list as there are thousands of mythical creatures, all of which could theoretically be a kin species, but not all of which have ever been reported as such.  This list will be added to as I encounter more species.

Angels

Angels are one of the better known Celestial species; primarily humanoid beings which minor differences, the most common of which being the possession of wings.  The word "angel" comes from the Greek "angellos" which means "messenger," and Angel-kin reflect this.  Many feel very directed (not to be confused with feeling pulled) toward a certain thing in life (playing music, teaching, gardening, etc.), and they feel an almost compulsive need to share this with others rather than keep this with themselves.

Some Angel-kin feel themselves to be actual incarnated angels or the offspring of such angels; both are entirely possible.

Basilisks

The Basilisk is a snake which is both small and very powerful.  They could cause death with a glance and left a trail of deadly venom in it's wake.

Basilisk-kin are likewise attached to death; they not only have an affinity for the energies of death and decay, but things around them will become sick and die more often than random chance would allow.  Because of this they can sometimes be mistaken for a Vampire which has been psychically feeding off of the things around it.  They are typically unnerving to the people and animals around them.  Basilisk-kin, almost as a rule, turn out as Dark Weres.  Those which are Therianthropes which never go through a full Awakening typically suffer from mental disorders because of the necrotic energies which surround them.

Cockatrices

While quite difference in appearance, the essence of the Cockatrice is very much the same as that of the Basilisk.  It appears as a half-rooster, half-dragon beast with a deadly stare, poisonous breath, and eyes which were either red or completely black.  The Cockatrice is said to die if it hears a rooster crow.

Like Basilisk-kin, Cockatrice-kin are typically surrounded by death and the associated energies.  Also like Basilisk-kin they have a tendency to be Dark Weres or mentally ill Therianthropes.  The primary difference between a Basilisk-kin and a Cockatrice-kin is that the Basilisk is reclusive whereas the Cockatrice is outgoing.

Dragons

Dragons are a widely varied species.  The two main types are the Western Dragon and the Eastern Dragon, though there are a small number of hybrids between them.  There are also legends of beings such as "Sea Dragons" but these seem to be a different species altogether.  The only things which seem to be in common for all Dragons is their shape (following the pattern of either the Western or Eastern variety) and all Dragons appear to have an elemental connection of some sort.  Beyond that they seem to be extremely different; they come in an amazing variety of sizes, diets, and habitats.  Even the commonly seen imagery of scales does not hold true; many Dragons have feathers, fur, or naked skin.  The element(s) a Dragon is connected to may not always be "standard" elements such as Earth or Fire.  Chaos, Electricity, Ice, and Darkness are also elements to a Dragon.

Dragon-kin often have an affinity for energy working but, interestingly, not always a gift in the element of their Dragon.  It is presumable that it is simply a different way of manifesting in the human body.  For example, if a Dragon is Fire-Elemental and controls fire with it's mind, this may translated to it's human body as simply being a gift to controlling things with his or her mind and the specifics of that would then be defined by the human psyche.

Elves

Elves are a species of folk who live in another world.  They are typically either immortal or extremely long-lived.  They are a predominantly peaceful people who are magical by nature and incredibly sophisticated by culture.  Most Elven societies are incredibly artistic; everything from cooking to road-paving to the crafting of ever-day tools is turned into a delicate art in which the final product is meant to be breathtakingly beautiful in addition to being useful.  There are, however, Dark Elves which thrive on pain rather than beauty.  Elves typically have a thin, youthful build, thin silky hair, light skin, and brightly colored eyes.  Dark Eves have dark skin and dark eyes.

Elf-kin often share the love of beauty and are often artists of some sort, most commonly poets.  They also often share in their Elven heritage by having a natural gift in magick.  Kinship most commonly shows itself either through magick or through dreams; as such a sophisticated and magical people, Elves tend to communicate quite directly to their kin.  While being Elf-kin has no known affect on what one's physical body will look like, people often get an Elven impression from Elf-kin.  They may seem thinner or younger than they really are, and their eyes almost universally seem to have some indescribable light to them, even if they are physically a deep brown.

Griffins

A Griffin is a Lion-Eagle hybrid, having the body of a lion and the head of an eagle.  The forelimbs may be either lion's legs or eagle's talons.  Nearly all Griffins have large feathered wings on their backs.  Griffins are incredibly noble and dedicated and mate for life; if a Griffin's mate dies it then spends it's life alone and does not search for a replacement.

Griffin-kin have a tendency towards being physically fit and quite strong.  They do not rely entirely upon this as so many would and instead seek out knowledge to balance with their physical might.  Griffin-kin outstandingly ethical and are usually quite religious.
